Everyone brought a dish to share that represented their heritage...Dad and Ellie: Fried Chicken and collard greens right from the garden! Oui and Andrew: Shepherds pie and Guinness Beer. Jae and Mike: Navajo fry bread. Dave and Karen: Lasagna and Brats, apples and cabbage. What a fun way to eat! Nate even made the comment "I've never had any of this kind of food before, except the chicken"
After dinner we had fun opening our white elephant Christmas gifts. Nate went first...he got 'Operation' the game. Christian got a backgammon game which he quickly hid under the table in fear that someone would snag it. Dad and Ellie got a crazy fishing wire, silver garland angel thing from Oui. Emily was thrilled to snag the gift that Uncle Steve opened...a camera! (old fashioned kind!) And of course Oui is wearing a snowman lamp shade...enough said! Jae opened a special book from Christian. We had a great holiday time together!
